I have had two occasions to use the Louise August company, one repairing and stabilising a long flight of stone steps, and another securing a large patio area with flagstone. Louse August came out same day and was able to help me immediately for a very fair price. They also suggested some additional work that would save me a headache down the road and gave me a discount on that work. I will be calling them again for my roofing/siding needs.

After I submitted the project, George called me within a few hours. He scheduled an appointment — an actual time, not a range — the next day and arrived on time. He reviewed the proposed work with me, pointing out various aspects of it that aligned with another proposed contractor. He then gave me an official written quote on the spot. It was lower than quotes, and it was for a definite amount, again, not a range. The foreman came by the next day to get the specifics so he could buy the necessary materials, and work commenced that afternoon. The project took three days, slightly under what they anticipated. The team arrived and left on time, and the areas were tidied up each time. They were also professional and friendly. Unfortunately, they discovered something that had not been done during the home’s original renovation, which George and Jim discussed with me. It was beyond what I wanted to do at the time, but we were able to settle on something that they thought would get the job done and I could agree to. They were excellent at explaining various aspects of the job like this, and I felt comfortable with their recommendations. They also accomplished additional two small tasks, one of which I mentioned I needed to do at a future date, and one that they observed. Both were done under the original agreement, which I appreciated. I definitely plan to use Louise August (a family business) for any projects that arise within their areas of expertise because it was a very good experience.

I feel they came in at an excellent price to quality ratio. It was not easy work they did and they did a great job they did not break the bank and the end result looked fantastic. I would use again.

The Louise August Home Improvement provided prompt, knowledgeable, and courteous service in response to my request for repair of a leak along the seam between my aluminum siding and the roof line. Because water was seeping into our dining room ceiling whenever it rained, we needed prompt, almost emergency service. Jim and George came within a day to assess the situation and returned the following day to complete the repair and to re-coat our flat roof that was showing signs of gradual failure. I highly recommend Louise August and would do business with them without hesitation.

My recent experience with the Louise August roofing company was outstanding. They were very responsive, professional and did the work at a fair price. The workers Walter and Caesar were easy to work with. The entire job was accomplished to my complete satisfaction.

Sept. 15th 2023 Repair work was done to an area of my porch roof that was rotting. The work was performed very professionally and you can't tell there was ever a problem. They also painted the repair area, porch columns and installed two new down spouts at a very fair price.

I called about a leaky roof on my rental property and they came out the same day to inspect and give me a quote. I agreed to the reasonable price and they came out the very next day for the repair. They provided pictures of the inspection as well as provided pictures during the entire repair process. Highly Recommended

I hired them to clean my gutters, not knowing the condition of the gutters at all. Louise August told me there was almost nothing to clean, and they didn’t charge me at all!

They arrived on time and worked on my roof for a good portion of the day. They also pointed my bricks and put a special protective coating which will last forever. I had several estimates done before hiring this company. One of the other companies pointed some things out. This company was the only one that got everything. The price was satisfactory for the amount of work that was done. The boss seemed to have a nice rapport with all his workers. The Louis August company responded promptly to my inquiry on Anji. George's estimate was $2,000-5,000 lower than the other estimates. The work was SUPERB. Instead of just pointing one of the walls, George kindly offered to do that entire wall. Walter is a superb mason. He did recessed joints as I requested, matched the mortar, and repaired cracks in my stone windowsills. All of the work was done extremely neatly and beautifully. Jim August also recommended that they replace missing slates on my mansard roof, for an additional price. Walter again did a perfect job. At the end of the work, they sprayed all walls, window sills, and slate roof with a transparent sealant. I couldn't be happier. I strongly recommend this company.

We contacted George and arranged an appointment to have our gutters cleaned and assessed. He was very responsive on our calls. He sent a gentleman round who arrived on time. Gutters were cleaned, and photos were provided before and after. In addition, I was concerned about the state of the gutters and downspouts so asked George to provide some recommendations, partly because we keep finding birds nests up there. He gave us some suggestions to improve the health of our gutters, the downspouts and the facia boards. He was friendly, knowledgeable and professional. We intend to use George and his team in the future and would have no hesitation in recommending him to others.

George came out and provided a same day quote. They’d had a cancellation and were able to start work the next day for us. Weather was coming, so they made sure to get it all done quickly for us. They did a wonderful job. We have four different roof types, slate, flat, metal, and asphalt shingles, and they were great with all of them. They also fixed our chimneys and tuck pointed our brick. Could not be more pleased! Our flat roof DC rowhouse ponded after a major storm and leaked through to our bedroom. George came out immediately (a Thursday) to give an estimate band proposal. By Sunday, the roof was repaired and by Wednesday the interior (our ceiling) was patched up. The crew was professional, showed us lots of photos, and did excellent work. Hopefully I never need to see them again, which is the sign of a job well done.

I loved everything about this company. Mr August arrived on time for our meeting. He was very polite, did a thorough job of asking lol questions about my concerns, and inspected the roof well. The cost for repairing the skylights and the damage done by the leaks was fair and no extra cost was added at the end of the job. He also included extra service at no cost to replace the gutter on the roof where the skylights were placed, so no further issues with rain might cause water getting under the roof tiles. His workers, Walter and Cesar, came on time and worked very hard ten hours straight, even after it started to rain, to finish the job of the roofing. They then came back the next day to do the gutter. . Before leaving both days they cleaned everything so well no one would know they had been there. They were also careful of my plants when moving equipment and materials. All around best job I have ever seen. I will definitely cal them again and am praising them to all my friends.

Our job was in Washington, DC to evaluate and repair a metal and shingle roof on one property that were allowing moisture stains inside. From the first phone call to Mr. Jim August, father, the customer service was exemplary, friendly, efficient, and informative. The appointment was set for the same day. We received before work site pictures, repair estimates with options and explanations immediately. We scheduled the work for the next day; it was completed totally and excellently that same day. The work required repair and coating metal roof, skylight, new gutters, downspouts and replacing fascia board. We received from son George August 14 after work pictures of various angles to see all completed work. The warranty was great. The project end conversation and payment process were informative and just as agreed. This is a family business. Five stars in all categories.
