Fascia Boards

The board your
gutters hang their hat on.

Fascia is the board that carries your gutters and seals your roof edge. When it rots, gutters sag, water gets behind, and the roofline starts to look tired. We replace it properly.

How fascia dies — and why it matters

Nine times out of ten, rotten fascia is a gutter problem that went unattended: clogged or back-pitched gutters slosh water over the back edge, the board stays wet, and rot sets in. Then the gutter hangers lose their bite, the gutter sags, more water lands on the fascia, and around it goes. Left alone, the rot walks into rafter tails and soffit — real structural money.

Replacing fascia without fixing the water source is redecorating a leak. We always address both.

Material options that last

Primed and painted wood is the classic look. Cellular PVC never rots and holds paint beautifully — our usual recommendation where gutters live. Aluminum wrap over sound wood is the economical refresh. We'll tell you which fits your house, your trim, and your budget, and we flash the top edge so water can't get behind any of them.

Done with the gutter work, not after it

The smart sequence is one visit: pull the old gutters, replace the rotten fascia, then hang new seamless gutters into fresh, sound wood. One mobilization, one paint match, and a roof edge that's genuinely done. We also repair the adjacent soffit and keep its vents clear — your attic needs the airflow.

Fascia Board Replacement questions, answered

Peeling paint along the roofline, visible soft or dark wood behind the gutter, sagging gutter runs, and nails backing out are the usual signs. We probe it properly from a ladder and show you photos.
Yes — we detach, replace the board, and re-hang your existing gutters if they're worth keeping. If they're at end-of-life, doing both at once saves you a second labor bill.
PVC for durability where water exposure is high, wood where historic look matters and maintenance is acceptable, aluminum wrap as a budget refresh over sound wood. We quote the right one for your situation.
